Not a diagnostic instrument
Nothing on ReadFlarediagnoses anything. Our tools, plans, checklists, and articles are educational resources that help you organize what you observe and what your school has already measured. They cannot tell you whether your child has dyslexia or any other learning disability. A formal diagnosis comes from a qualified professional evaluation, such as a comprehensive evaluation by your school's team or an assessment by a licensed psychologist or neuropsychologist, and nothing here substitutes for one.

If you have concerns about your child's development, vision, hearing, attention, or wellbeing, talk to your pediatrician or a qualified specialist. Not legal advice about your school rights
Our content about evaluations, IEPs, and 504 plans explains processes published under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. It is general information, not legal advice, and reading it does not create an attorney-client relationship. States and districts implement these laws differently and timelines vary. For a dispute with a district, consult a special education attorney or advocate, and know that every state has at least one federally funded parent training and information center that helps families at no cost.
No promised outcomes, because children differ
ReadFlaredoes not promise that any plan, practice routine, or approach will bring your child to a particular reading level, close a gap, or produce any specific gain by any date. Children develop differently, and progress depends on instruction, practice, the nature of a child's difficulty, and support well beyond any website. Be cautious of anyone who guarantees reading results for a child they have never met.
Your child's scores belong to the school's assessment
Our Reading Intervention Plan is organized around screening scores you copy from the report your school already gave you. We do not test your child, we do not generate scores, and our plan does not reinterpret what the school's assessment measured. Questions about what a score means for your child belong to the educators and evaluators who administered the assessment.
We are not your school, and decisions stay with the team
Decisions about evaluations, eligibility, services, IEPs, and 504 plans are made through your school's process, with you at the table as the parent. Our letter templates and guides help you ask clear questions and put requests in writing; they do not obligate a district, and we never attend meetings, negotiate, or communicate with a school on your behalf.
